I had no idea what to do after leaving high school, so I went to Liverpool University to study medical genetics. I had no idea what to do after competing my degree so I went to graduate school at the University of Manchester. I had a lot of fun there and decided to try my hand at research. I came to the Sates to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to do two years post-doctoral work and then returned to England to train as a teacher . During this training I realized that teaching was my calling, and had been so for many years. I then came back to the States to Chicago where I taught at Elgin Academy. Since the summer of 2002 I have been at CA, and to borrow the McD's line ... "I'm loving it!"
I've taught 3 levels of chemistry at CA as well as environmental science. I coached women's soccer 2002-2006 and am currently the grade level dean for the class of 2011, Academy's centennial year. |
